In 2020, I made a pivotal decision to shift my career from tourism to tech. My journey began with exploring HTML, CSS, and the notorious boogeyman, JavaScript. Despite the challenges, I quickly discovered my passion for web development and decided to fully commit to it. It wasn’t easy, but it was incredibly rewarding.

These days, with a strong background in frontend development, I specialize in building modern, scalable web applications using React and NextJs. I’ve had the opportunity to lead a talented team on key projects and mentor high school students on Git and development practices. I’m passionate about delivering clean, efficient code and excited to apply my technical skills to new challenges.

Frontend lead developer @ Studio Present

As a Frontend Lead Developer, I took responsibility for organizing weekly meetings focused on discussing best coding practices, ensuring adherence to a consistent code style, and offering both guidance and encouragement to the team. I spearheaded the development of a new Drupal theme, which integrates all modern CSS techniques for 2024 like fluid typography, latest selectors, css layers etc. Also, we made a function that converts Figma tokens in JSON format to CSS variables.

Frontend developer @ Studio Present

During this period of time, I specialized in building modern web apps using React and Next.js, sharpening my skills through practical experience. I led the HeiExperts project as both the Project Lead and Team Lead , collaborating with Heidelberg University and its clients. In the Nature.digital project, I primarily worked on complex search mechanisms, filters, sliders, map functionalities, and intricate state management, further refining my expertise in Next.js and React.

I began my frontend development journey at a company that initially focused on Webflow projects. My role involved enhancing Webflow sites with custom JavaScript functions, turning them into more interactive, app-like experiences, as seen in the Homm project. As the company transitioned to Next.js and React projects, I embraced the opportunity and gained significant experience, marking my true start with the framework.

HeiExperts

The HeiExpert project is a Next.js/TypeScript application powered by Strapi, designed to connect students with experts from Heidelberg University. Each user can create a profile, while students benefit from an advanced search and filtering system, complete with tags, to find professors or experts who can assist with specific academic challenges.

Nature.digital

Nature.digital is an app that helps users explore paths, plants, and animals across Bavaria. Published by the Bavarian State Government, it offers expert knowledge for nature enthusiasts. Key features include a Lexicon for listing routes, POIs, animals, and habitats, an Advanced Search for detailed wildlife information, and rich media integration with sound, videos, and images. The app also supports multiple map views-vector, satellite, and spatial-enhancing the user experience.

Elter

This project is for a leading Hungarian family business in the lighting retail industry, with over 30 years of experience and multiple stores across the country, along with a high-end online store. It uses React components to enhance the product catalog sections, significantly improving the site's performance. I had a role of optimizing the site for SEO, improving the site's performance, and implementing new features.

Pierre wiki

PIERRE Wiki is a centralized knowledge hub designed to assist official partners in distributing products more efficiently. The platform features an intelligent chat interface that provides tailored solutions to customer pain points. It is interactive, allowing users to give feedback, which helps the system learn and improve its responses over time. My team and I developed the frontend theme, incorporating custom JavaScript, while Drupal serves as the backend.

Homm hotels

I participated in creating a custom filter system for the Homm Hotels website, which is part of the Banyan Group, a global hospitality company. The filter system, built using JavaScript in a Webflow project, allows users to select dates, which are then converted into query parameters that lead to their booking system, streamlining the booking process for guests.
